Rules for the 2011 Nightmare at the Rock
Tournament and Game Rules The following is a summary of the game rules for each age division. If there are any questions, please ask to see Tournament Director, Tournament Referee Director, or Tournament Staff. If you are at a field, please ask a Field Marshall to contact one of the above. The Center Grove / Nightmare at the Rock Tournament will be played in accordance with the FIFA Laws of the Game, except as noted below. The tournament committee shall have final say on all matters of the tournament. Scored as 3-0 Game Ties Preliminary Games Shall End In Tie. In Trophy matches, if the game is tied after regulation, the teams will play two ten (10) minute overtimes. If the score is tied after the two (2) overtimes, then the game shall be decided by penalty kicks under FIFA laws. Player / Coach / Spectator Location: � Both teams will be on the same side of the field, including coaches. � A maximum of three (3) coaches (all carded) will be allowed on the team sidelines. Limited coaching in the youngest age group will be permitted. � All other persons must be on the opposite side. No one will be allowed behind goal lines of active games. Coach/Player/Spectator Conduct: Coaches are responsible for the conduct of players, parents, and spectators at the fields, hotels, and other locations, for the duration of the tournament. If the Center Grove Soccer Club receives complaints regarding the conduct of any player or person associated with your team, the tournament committee may ask any/all persons to stay away from the tournament, and/or ask the team to leave (games will be forfeited), and/or bar the team from future tournaments. Please keep your team under control so that everyone may have an enjoyable time. Cautions/Red Cards/Ejections: All cautions, Red cards, and ejections are recorded and submitted as part of the tournament and referee report to the Indiana Youth Soccer Association. Any out of state teams receiving a caution, Red card, or ejection will have there respective state association notified. All Red cards and ejections will result in a one (1) game suspension for the immediate following game. All Red cards and ejections will result in the player card/coaches card being pulled and sent to the Tournament Referee Director until after the suspension has been served. Any player/coach/spectator receiving a second (2nd) red card or ejection or repeated cautions may be subject to suspension from the tournament and/or future tournaments. Referees shall report all cautions, Red cards, and ejections using the US Soccer C/E form. The field marshal will have this form for completion. Forms are to be sent to the Tournament Referee Director for logging. Point system: Win -6 points Tie -3 points, Loss -0 points, Points for Goals – 1 each up to Max 3, 1 point for shutout. Forfeit will be scored as 10 points. Play: Local teams should expect to play on Friday. All other games will be played on Saturday and Sunday. USSF certified officials will be used. Emergency medical personnel will be on site. Team registration will be 5:30pm – 9:00pm Friday, October 28, 2011 and 7:00am -12:00pm Saturday, Oct 29, 2011 at South Central Soccer Academy . Teams must check-in at least 1 hour before first game. All games are at the ,South Central Soccer Academy Campbell Fields, Greenwood, Indiana located at the intersection of Whiteland Road (CR 500N) and Morgantown Road (CR 500W), Johnson County, Indiana. Qualification for Final Games: (To determine team playing for 1st and 2nd place) � Team with the most points in the Flights/Division�s �A� and �B� brackets. The team in the �A� bracket will be the home team. � Divisions with one bracket or odd numbers of teams may play a round robin schedule. Final standings will be based on only those games. All point rules apply. � Tie breaker procedure to determine final positions: (a) head to head result; (b) net goals - difference between goals scored and goals against. (in games won w/max. 3/game); (c) fewest goals allowed (all games); (d) most shut outs achieved (all games); (e) most goals scored (all games w/max. 6/game); (f) penalty shots. Forfeits: � A team forfeiting a game will be eliminated from qualifying for the trophy match. Player Registration Requirements: � All players must be a club member and have a current travel player pass (US Soccer approved). � A copy of the current state approved roster, one filed with the tournament at registration, one with the coach. � A copy of the Tournament Medical Authorization for each player. Club medical authorization will be accepted but it must be notarized. � A copy of the Center Grove Soccer Club Waiver of Liability Form (only CGSC form will be accepted), to be filed with the Tournament Registrar at registration. � A maximum of two (2) for U9/U10, two (2) for U11/U12 and three (3) for U13/U14 guest players may be registered with the team. All other player requirements apply for guest players. � No player may play for more than one team regardless of age or division they are playing in. U14 teams will be allowed a maximum of 3 trapped U15 players. Trapped players must be on state roster. Trapped players cannot be guest players. Travel Permits: All out-of-state teams must provide valid travel permits. GENERAL INFORMATION: � All age brackets U11 and up will receive 1st and 2nd place trophies. U9 and U10 will receive participation medals. � The designated Home Team (team listed first on the schedule) will wear light-colored jerseys; visiting team will wear dark jerseys. The home team will be required to change if there is a conflict. Game balls will be provided by the home team, if there is not one provided at the field. � In trophy matches, �A� bracket winner will be home. In one-bracket divisions, team with highest points will be home. � Teams should be at the field 30 minutes prior to game start time. Player passes will be checked. � At referee's discretion games may begin 15 minutes early. � No protests will be allowed. The referee's decision will be final. � The Tournament Committee reserves the right to group age divisions based on team availability. � In the event of inclement weather and impending darkness, the Tournament Exec. Committee will have the authority to relocate, reschedule, cancel or change the duration of any game. If lightning is sighted, the referee will immediately suspend play and clear the field. Play will resume after 20 consecutive minutes of no lightning. Time permitting, games will be played to (a) completion or (b) completion of first half and score recorded. Please see severe weather policy. � Alcohol is strictly prohibited at the Center Grove Soccer Complex. Possession will result in immediate dismissal from the grounds. � No food or beverage of any kind is permitted to be brought on to the Center Grove Soccer Complex grounds. Full service concessions are available at the complex. � NEIGHBORING PROPERTY � Please be aware that the complex has neighbors that are private property. This includes the houses bordering the south side of the park next to fields 8, 9, and 11. Please refrain from entering their property unless it is necessary to retrieve a ball kicked from the complex. NO ONE SHOULD BE WARMING UP BEYOND THE TREE LINE. No access to the club is available from the south side, do not use the driveways to get to our parking or to drop off players. � NO PETS ALLOWED.
